The Department of Design carries out research and development work within the field of the design process and the core competences in product, space and interaction design, together with the part of the extended design concept that deals with immaterial and conceptual systems such as services, strategic design, process facilitation and creation of values. Special focus areas are:

  • Processes for user analysis and involvement
  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration processes
  • Innovation processes within technology, materials and application
  • Design method and theory
  • Healthcare and accessibility
  • Information and communication technology
  • Light, form and visual communication
