About The Danish Design School

Rector: Tine Kjølsen

The Danish Design School is an educational institution under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The School's mission is to ensure the international position of Danish design, further the competitive ability of Danish business, and contribute to the establishment of international standards for design education and design research.

For more than 130 years the Danish Design School has contributed to the development of the design profession and it is now a modern, professional design school which incorporates innovation, an international vision and the newest technologies.

Today the Danish Design School deals with many aspects of design, from the form and techniques of innovative and creative development to commercial applications and opportunities. The Danish Design School offers a modular training programme, offering a number of areas of specialization which we continually keep updated with the newest techniques and developments.

The Danish Design School is situated close to the centre of Copenhagen at Strandboulevarden 47.

At The Danish Design School you will find the Design Library - a public research library. The library serves as the School's knowledge centre and it supports the School's teaching and research within the fields of design.
